October 13, 2013

MIDDLETOWN –Have Sandy recovery questions?

Mayor Gerard P. Scharfenberger urges Sandy-affected residents and businesses owners to visit the Tonya Keller Community Center from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, to meet with state officials. The center is located at 50 Bray Avenue, Middletown.

“This is an invaluable opportunity to get some face time with agencies that can help navigate through the recovery and rebuilding process,” Scharfenberger said. “I hope every resident recovering from Sandy will stop by with questions.”

State representatives from state agencies are scheduled to attend from:

  • The Governor’s Office of Constituent Relations;
  • The Department of Community Affairs (DCA);
  • The Economic Development Authority (EDA);
  • The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP);
  • The Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI);
  • The Department of Treasury;
  • The Business Action Center (BAC) at the Department of State;
  • The Department of Human Services (DHS);
  • The Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Representatives from these agencies will be on hand in Middletown to meet with affected residents and answer questions on a variety of topics including homeowner and rental program status updates and business grant and loan status updates. Homeowners and business owners interested in attending can expedite the process by bringing relevant documentation related to the issue they are facing.
