Rumson-Fair Haven 27, Red Bank 0
In the latest installment of the Ridge Road rivalry, the Bulldogs (4-0) pulled away for a blowout win over Red Bank (0-3). Rumson jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead to coast to the win. Manalapan 29, Middletown South 14
Middletown South (2-1) dropped its first game of the season to A-North rival Manalapan (3-0). The Eagles, hopeful on getting revenge from last year’s loss to the Braves, scored on two touchdown passes from senior quarterback Kyle Brey, but Manalapan’s rushing game was too explosive to contain. Brey threw for 177 yards in the game and added an interception to his day. The Braves have won 19 consecutive games against A-North opponents.
Red Bank Catholic 63, Raritan 7
Red Bank Catholic (4-0) had no problem coasting to its 28th consecutive win against Shore Conference opponents against Raritan (0-4). The Caseys jumped out to a 35-7 lead at halftime before running away with the home victory over the Rockets.
Colts Neck 42, Middletown North 0
Middletown North (0-3) dropped its second consecutive divisional game in a loss to Colts Neck. The Lions (4-0), who are still in search of their first win under Steve Bush, went down 21-0 at halftime before falling to the Cougars, who have yet to give up a point this season. Middletown North is averaging just 5.6 points per game in 2013.
