Red Bank Catholic 42, Immaculata 14

Red Bank Catholic won its third consecutive first-round playoff game in a 42-14 win over Immaculata in the Non-Public, Group 3 playoffs.

Larry Redaelli ran for 165 yards and scored two touchdowns to pace fourth-seeded Red Bank Catholic over fifth-seeded Immculata. After falling behind 7-0, the Caseys reeled off 42 straight points.

Rumson 41, Bordentown 8

Top-seeded Rumson advanced to the semifinal round of the Central Jersey, Group 2 playoffs with a convincing win over Bordentown. The Bulldogs will take on the winner of tomorrow’s Rahway-Spotswood at home next weekend.

Burlington Township 52, Middletown South 45

In a wild opening-round game, Middletown South erased a 45-31 deficit only to see Burlington Township score a touchdown in the final minute to win, 52-45 in the first round of the Central Jersey, Group 4 playoffs.

The fourth-seeded Eagles had an early lead over Burlington Township, but it all got away before South staged a late-game comeback. It’s the first time Middletown South didn’t win a playoff game since 2011, when it was upset in the first round by Northern Burlington.
