Rumson-Fair Haven 22, Manasquan 15

In a back-and-forth thriller, Rumson avenged a loss to Manasquan from last season to improve to 8-0 on the year. Charlie Volker ran for two touchdowns and Dylan Zohn scored from one yard out with 54 seconds left in the game.

The win likely earned Rumson the No. 1 seed in the Central Jersey, Group 2 state playoffs, which will start next week.

Colts Neck 27, Middletown South 21 (Overtime)

Middletown South climbed out of a 14-0 first-half deficit but lost in overtime to A-North foe Colts Neck. The Eagles have now lost back-to-back games for the second time this season after falling to Red Bank Catholic last week.

Anthony Garguilo scored for Colts Neck in overtime to give the Cougars the win.

Middletown North 33, Freehold Township 0

Middletown North pounded A-North opponent Freehold Township to earn a playoff spot in the Central Jersey, Group 4 state playoffs for the first time in four years. The Lions (3-5) have won back-to-back division games after topping Howell last week.

Barnegat 17, Red Bank 6

The Bucs lost a defensive battle with Barnegat as they fell to 1-7 and dropped their third straight game. Red Bank fell behind 10-0 before a late attempt to mount a comeback in the loss.
