RED BANK – The Count Basie Theatre will welcome home national singing sensation when Colts Neck native Jacquie Lee performs Saturday night’ at “A ‘Souled Out” Christmas” concert at the Basie.

The concert, to benefit the Little Kids Rock charity (http://www.littlekidsrock.org), is headlined by Darlene Love (“White Christmas,” “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home”) and Gary U.S. Bonds (“This Little Girl Is Mine,” “Quarter To Three,” “New Orleans”), along with Pat Guadagno, Gideon Luke & The People, Salvatore Boyd  and Jobonanno, who will debut his new single “Your Love Is All I Want For Christmas. Additional guests will also perform.

Lee, a recent student of Rockit at the Basie and the Count Basie Theatre’s Performing Arts Academy, made a splash this season as a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice.” Handpicked by Christina Aguilera to join her team in the competition, the 16-year-old singer wowed judges and excelled past all but one of her fellow contestants – many of whom competed with years of industry acumen and professional recording experience on their resumes.

Following last Monday’s final performance broadcast, artists like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson and others took to Twitter and encouraged followers to lend Lee their vote.“Been catching up on THE VOICE,” Gaga tweeted after Monday night’s show. “I love @jacquieleemusic. Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice! Vote for her monsters!”

“I know who I’m voting for!” exclaimed Hudson, the onetime “American Idol” contestant who shot to greater stardom in her Oscar-winning performance in “Dreamgirls.” “@jacquieleemusic killed it on the #VoiceFinale.”

Adam Philipson, CEO, Count Basie Theatre, said: “Our performing arts staff knew very early on that Jacquie had star power. Now that millions of Americans know it, too. We couldn’t be more honored to help welcome her home.”
