MIDDLETOWN – The township planning board is scheduled Wednesday evening to continue hearing the application to construct a permanent campus on Chapel Hill Road for Trinity Hall, a private all-girls school.

The board meeting will be held, starting at 6:30 p.m., at town hall, 1 Kings Highway.

While the application, which has been controversial, is the only item on the board’s agenda, if past performance is any indication, the hearing will likely be a lengthy one. Ron Gasiorowski, the attorney representing objectors to the plan, is scheduled to continue his cross-examination of professional witnesses who have testified on behalf of the applicant.

During last month’s hearing, Gasiorowski’s cross of the project engineer and his sparing with project attorney, John Giunco, took the evening beyond 10 p.m.

Trinity Hall, a private school providing a Roman Catholic-based religious and scholastic education, is seeking board approval to construct a facility on a portion of an approximately 60-acre, undeveloped and mostly wooded property located on Chapel Hill Road. The neighborhood is residential with the exception of a couple of horse farms and a number of homeowners have voiced objections to the project. They allege that the use would have a negative impact on the area.

Those supporting the project maintain the school would be a better use of the site than other possible developments.
