5/2 – Pedestrian Seriously Injured When Struck by Car in Supermarket Lot

LITTLE SILVER – Borough police are investigating an accident that occurred at 10:03 a.m. today during which a pedestrian was hit by a car in the parking lot of the A&P on Prospect Street.

Chief Daniel Shaffey said the victim suffered serious injuries and was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune aboard a New Jersey State Police medivac helicopter.

The borough police department and officers from the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) are investigating the incident.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. Shaffey identified the driver of the 2007 Toyota Camry as John C. Heidelberger, 46, of Red Bank.
