FREEHOLD — A Monmouth County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Lawrence A. Porter, Center Avenue, in the Belford section of Middletown, charging him with burglary and theft of moveable property.

The two-count indictment charges that Porter broke into a Middletown home on April 2, taking at least $200 in cash.

FREEHOLD — A Monmouth County grand jury on May 21 handed up an indictment against Lauren C. Falco, 23, South River, for allegedly nearly running down a Middletown police officer in March.

Falco was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and for obstructing the administration of law or other governmental function.

The indictment charges that Falco used a motor vehicle as the deadly weapon on March 2 in Middletown, during a traffic stop, almost hitting an officer as she attempted to drive away.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — Police arrested a Middletown man on Saturday charging him with a series of offenses for allegedly burglarizing a borough residence, along with possessing illegal drugs, harassment and for attempting arson while in police custody.

According to the criminal complaint, Christopher D. Nunez, 33, Vanderbilt Avenue, in the Middletown’s Leonardo section, was charged on May 17 with breaking into an Ocean Boulevard home on April 17, taking jewelry, an iPad tablet, a bicycle and fishing equipment, valued at $2,725. Nunez allegedly also took prescription medication from the home and then later returned and threatened the homeowner to discourage reporting the theft to the police.

After police took Nunez into custody on May 17, he was handcuffed to a bench in the police processing room and allegedly took his cigarettes and lighter out of an evidence bag and tried to start a fire in a trash can, police said.

Nunez’s bail totaled $65,000 for the various offenses, without the option to post a 10 percent bond.
