7/7 – The Salvation Army of Red Bank to Hold 14th Trombone Night Thursday

RED BANK – The Salvation Army Red Bank Corps is hosting its 14th Annual BBQ & Trombone Night on Thursday at 180 Newman Springs Road.

Every year, some of the finest trombone players in the New York metropolitan area and further have come down to play classic, swing and gospel music that can only be played on “God’s Instrument.”

Attendees also are invited to join the players for a barbecue before the concert. The event is free and open to the public; an at will collection will be taken to support The Salvation Army Red Bank Corps and Salvation Army World Services.

The barbecues will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the performances at 7:30 p.m.

Trombonists from the New Jersey Symphony, Imperial Brass, The Salvation Army’s Premier New York Staff Band, the Montclair Citadel Brass Band in North Jersey and some outstanding “sackbut’s” from New York City, Spring Valley, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and local Red Bank players.
