8/16 – Monmouth U. Honored by State Council on the Arts

WEST LONG BRANCH – Monmouth University has been presented a Citation of Excellence by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for achieving the highest standards of excellence as recognized by its peers.

The arts council also designated Monmouth University as a Major Presenting and Service Organization. This marks the fifth year the honor has been bestowed upon the university. The honor is given in recognition of Monmouth University’s high quality programming and presentation of new and important work with a well-defined artistic vision given the diversity of the work presented.

Monmouth University, through its Center for the Arts, exerts cultural leadership in the region providing a rich array of performances by nationally and internationally recognized artists in many disciplines including children’s musicals, family entertainment, concerts, dance recitals, cultural events, festivals, and special attractions. Monmouth University also produces professional theatre, features a visiting writers series, film festivals, continuous art exhibitions, student performances, and much, much more.
