LONG BRANCH – Investigators for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office are asking for help from the public as they investigate the homicide of a Long Branch woman and her foster daughter who were found in their home on Friday.
City police responded to a 9-1-1 call, reporting suspicious circumstances at 61 Lippincott Ave. at about 5:22 p.m. Responding officers discovered the two bodies there, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
The bodies of Joan Colbert, 62, and her 10-year-old foster daughter, Veronica Roach, were found in the first-floor apartment, according to Webster.
An autopsy performed by Middlesex County Assistant Medical Examiner Dr. Diane Karlik determined the deaths were the result of homicide, Webster said..
Authorities have not released any other details about the incident.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of criminals and fugitives.
