RED BANK – It will be a special opportunity for selected high-school hockey players in Monmouth and Ocean counties tonight during the 16th annual Shoot For The Stars all-star game, sponsored by former NHL player Jim Dowd.

Sunday night’s game, which is annually played between the best players in the two counties, is set for 5 p.m. at the Red Bank Armory. Monmouth topped Ocean, 8-5, last year and leads the all-time series 10-5.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean County.

Dowd, who played for the New Jersey Devils, has hosted the event every year since its inception in 1998.

Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. NHL memorabilia and other prizes will be raffled off throughout the game.
