RED BANK – Police are investigating what a department spokesman called a “home invasion-style robbery,” with armed perpetrators that occurred at a west side residence last evening.

Three men – at least two of whom were carrying handguns –entered a West Sunset Avenue home in the area of Leighton Avenue at approximately 7 p.m., said Capt. Darren McConnell, a police spokesman.

The suspects took a laptop computer, cell phone, PlayStation videogame console, along with “a small amount of cash” from the wallet of a man living in the home, McConnell said.

The suspects fled the scene in a light-colored Buick sedan, last seen traveling south on Leighton Avenue, McConnell said.

No shots were fired and no one was injured, he said.
