SANDY HOOK – The National Park Service will have a free program Sunday at Sandy Hook, featuring physical fitness activities highlighting the federal park as a destination for healthy living.

The park service’s “Get Into Gateway” program will be conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Guardian Park Picnic Area.

The program, conducted by the National Park Service and the American Heart Association, will feature opportunities for park visitors to join in for free kayaking, fishing, volleyball, exercising and other activities, conducted by park rangers, interns and volunteers, along with information about healthy lifestyles.

The program is made possible in part by an Active Trails grant from the National Park Foundation, through the support of its sponsors, such as Coca-Cola and the Coca-Cola Foundation, Disney and the Scrooby Foundation.
