MONMOUTH BEACH – A fast response by area fire departments saved a borough home from a blaze that broke out on the upper floors of the Icehouse Road.

Fire departments from Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and Long Branch responded to 4 Icehouse Roa around 2:30 p.m. Friday for the report of a structure fire.

Neighbor Walt Michaels said he heard the sound of a smoke alarm and looked outside to see smoke billowing from the house next door. Another neighbor, Janet Moser, called the report in to the borough fire department

“Within minutes, the fire departments arrived” Michaels said.

The Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s office responded to the scene and started its investigation into the cause.
