The Friends of the Little Silver Public Library will sponsor a holiday boutique at the library from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.
The boutique will feature handcrafted items that will be for sale with the Little Silver Library receiving 20 percent of the proceeds.
This is an excellent chance to start your holiday shopping while choosing from a variety of unique gifts. The assortment of vendors will include three jewelry vendors offering a selection of sea glass, Swarovski crystal and pearl jewelry. Bow Mama will have girls’ hair bows and headbands. For pet lovers, there will be an array of pet collars and leashes plus Kim’s Photo Designs. For those “techie” customers, shop for clever Nook, Kindle and iPad covers.
Also, a vendor will offer handmade crochet items. For your viewing pleasure there will be local artists, displaying their work.

The Sickles Market Holiday Express wine and cheese tasting benefit, originally slated for Nov. 2, has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at the market’s 1 Harrison Ave. location.
Those who purchased tickets for the event are being offered the following options:

Community members will soon get the opportunity to refresh their driving skills, thanks to Regal Pointe Independent Living and AARP. Regal Pointe will host a one-day AARP Safe Driver Refresher Course for defensive driving from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28.
For November only, veterans and their spouses can take the AARP Course for free. The offer is available to all military personnel who served or are serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard/Reserves or Coast Guard.
Successful completion can result in discounts on car insurance and the elimination of one point on your license (contact your insurance agent for details).
The course is available to drivers, age 50 years and older.
The cost of the course for non-veteran AARP members, with proof of membership, is $12 per person. The cost for nonmembers is $14 per person. All participants must bring their AARP membership card (if applicable) and valid driver’s license. The event includes lunch, courtesy of Regal Pointe.

The Poricy Park Conservancy will hold its 25th Annual Holiday and Craft Shop featuring beautiful handcrafted items and gifts created by Poricy Park members.
The Holiday and Craft Shop will run daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p. m. Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012; and from Friday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 9.
The event is made possible through the efforts of volunteers of Poricy Park Conservancy and members of Rebecca Reel Quilters of Poricy Park.
Handcrafted items will include ornaments, quilts, stockings, jewelry and more from members of the park. Come see new crafts and annual favorites. This is a popular event for the park and items sell out fast.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Poricy Park Conservancy.
Poricy Park is located at 345 Oak Hill Road in Middletown; the event takes place in the annex.
Poricy Park Conservancy is a non-profit organization. All community and summer camp programs are run by Poricy Park Conservancy. The park offers recreational activities such as wooded hiking trails, bird watching, pristine pond settings, fishing, and a one-of-a-kind 70 million year-old Cretaceous fossil bed.
Poricy Park is home to the 1770 NJ Historic Murray Farmhouse and Barn.
The Youth Groups of Pilgrim Baptist Church and United Methodist Church re joining together to sponsor a blanket drive to assist families and individuals displaced/ affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The drive will run through Sunday, Nov. 18. New or gently used Blankets can be dropped off at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172 Shrewsbury Ave., or United Methodist Church at 247 Broad St.
As part of the Community Collaborative Response Initiative, items will be distributed through Lunch Break of Red Bank.

Red Bank Flavour, a culinary campaign driven by the borough’s top chefs, restaurateurs and proprietors, has postponed its second-annual Holiday Flavour event.
The event was originally slated for Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Molly Pitcher Inn. A new date will be announced in the near future.
Holiday Flavour will feature more than 20 of the town’s most-popular restaurants and eateries at an exquisite culinary affair. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Lunch Break, The Parker Family Health Center and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The life of Eleanor Roosevelt, from her awkward childhood to her transformation into one of the 20th Century’s great humanitarians, will be portrayed at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in a one-woman show at the Two River Theater Company by actress Joan Wolfberg.
The presentation, called Eleanor Roosevelt: No Ordinary Woman, stars Wolfberg, a Chautauqua scholar who has also portrayed Golda Meir. Wolfberg has given more than 300 performances in 50 cities in the United States and Canada. Her portrayals weave together history and drama to create a performance that is both educational and entertaining.
