Rebecca’s Reel Quilters of Poricy Park will hold its Annual Handmade Quilt Raffle to benefit Poricy Park.
The handmade quilt is designed, created and donated by members of the quilting group. The quilt is queen size, designed with contemporary tones of blues, purples and greens and is valued at $1,000. Raffle tickets are $1 per ticket with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting Poricy Park Conservancy.
The drawing will be held on 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Poricy Park at 345 Oak Hill Road. The winner need not be present to win.
Additional information and tickets are available by visiting the Poricy Park Nature Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend hours at the nature center fluctuate based on prescheduled events and group/community programs. Tickets may also be purchased at Rebecca’s Reel Quilters Guild meetings and events.
Students and teachers who ever attended or taught at Leonardo High School, from 1911 thru 1958, are invited to attend the 84th annual alumni reunion at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26. The event will be held at Jacques Banquet Hall (formerly Buck Smith’s), at 500 Palmer Ave.

Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank will be sponsoring its annual community vacation Bible school and summer enrichment clubs, from Monday, July 14, through 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the 172 Shrewsbury Ave. church.
The programs will offer students biblical, practical, recreational and social skills and development activities that are designed to enrich the life experiences for all participants.
There is no cost to participate but registration is required. Meals, materials and T-shirt are included.

Clean Ocean Action and Surfers’ Environmental Alliance are hosting Shore Paddle on Sunday, July 13, at Victory Park.
The Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) event will include an 8-mile World Paddle Association (WPA) points-sanctioned race, a 3-mile Fun Paddle, a free yoga class and activities for the whole family.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., the 8-mile race begins at 9 a.m. followed by the 3-mile Fun Paddle at 9:30 a.m., and the free yoga class will take place at 10 a.m. Boards can be rented through Clean Ocean Action for $30.
All are invited to come out and enjoy a family fun event to benefit clean oceans and beaches.

Mature runners interested in 5k and longer practice and training, plus aerobic conditioning and socializing, will be meeting mornings at Meadow Ridge Park on Ridge Road to decide on the morning run or runs.
Distance preferences will be accommodated by splitting into daily sections, as necessary. Weekend running will be free-form and can be set up individually or as a group. Runners with route suggestions for the area are especially welcome.
