RED BANK – The U.S. Pain Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by people with pain for people with pain, and Alex and Ani have teamed up to hold a Charmed By Charity event from 7 to 9 p.m. June 23 at the Alex and Ani store, 12 Broad St.

A portion of Alex and Ani sales completed during the event will go directly to U.S. Pain Foundation, whose mission is to educate, connect, inform and empower those living with pain while advocating on behalf of the entire pain community.

In addition to advocating efforts at the state and national level, hosting pain awareness events, educational summits, and other endeavors, the U.S. Pain Foundation reaches out to as many people as possible to shed light on some statistics: Nearly 100 million Americans live with pain caused by various injuries, diseases and disorders, according to the Institute of Medicine’s 2011 Pain Report. Chronic pain is the leading cause of lost workdays, costing the nation an estimated $100 billion in lost productivity and increases in health care every year.

The event will offer members of the pain and non-pain community, friends and family an evening to shop for a worthy cause while socializing with others from U.S. Pain Foundation.

Those who are unable to attend can still contribute to U.S. Pain Foundation with an Alex and Ani purchase. Purchases can be made by contacting the Red Bank, Alex and Ani location June 22 – 23, with purchase and payment information via telephone at 732-268-7274 or email at and referencing the U.S. Pain Foundation event.

Light refreshments will be provided, as well as a Kids’ Corner and door prizes, such as free Pilate’s classes at The Pilate’s Project and U.S. Pain Foundation gear.
