Angelini Honored for Work on Behalf of Women’s Health

Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini (R-11th District) was honored recently by the New Jersey Primary Care Association and the Federally Qualified Health Care Centers (FQHC) for her contribution to women’s health care.

“As a female legislator, ensuring that women have access to critical health-care services is one of my top priorities,” said Angelini, who serves as deputy conference leader in the Assembly Republican Caucus. “I am honored to receive this recognition for my efforts to protect the health of women throughout New Jersey.”

During the eighth annual advocates brunch, Angelini was lauded for her contributions to Federally Qualified Health Care Centers, which serve hundreds of thousands of patients, regardless of their ability to pay for services.

“The FQHC’s provide an invaluable service to those who might otherwise be unable to afford these critical health-care services,” said Angelini, who is a member of the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee. “I will continue to advocate for men and women who rely on these centers for their health-care needs.”

The brunch coincided with National Women’s Health Week in May. The FQHC’s are marking the occasion by offering health education, free health screenings and other services.
