Brookdale Community College’s Daniels Chosen as Commission Honoree

FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Human Relations Commission (MCHRC) will present its third annual Earl Thomas Teasley Humanitarian Award at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, in the Conference Room at the Monmouth County Agriculture Building, 4000 Kozloski Road.

The recipient will be Dale Daniels, executive director of the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education (Chhange Center) at Brookdale Community College.

Daniels has been the executive director of the Holocaust Center at Brookdale Community College for many years, and is a former member of the Monmouth County Human Relations Commission. As a director of what was formerly known as the Holocaust Center, she has made a real difference in bringing issues of bias crimes and discrimination to the forefront of the center’s activities, while also transitioning into a new location at Brookdale, one that provides access to those with disabilities.

In recent years, programs on immigration, gender inequality, modern-day slavery, and incarceration have been presentation topics.

Earl Teasley, for whom the award is named, was the chairman of the MCHRC at the time of his death in April 2010. Teasley was a noted advocate for social justice, a beloved counselor and an assistant professor at Brookdale Community College. Information about Teasley may be found in the Scrapbook section of the MCHRC web pages at

The public is welcome to attend the free ceremony. RSVPs are suggested to reserve a seat. Light refreshments will be served.
