With more than 20 years of experience, Kole brings a unique blend of financial advisory expertise. Prior to joining Besen, he served as a vice president of investment services with some of the largest financial firms including UBS, Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch and Santander Investment Services.

He holds his series 7, 63, 65, life, health and variable insurance licenses and is also a Certified Retirement Counselor.

Given the continued growth in total trade volume within the residential (1-4 family) whole loan space and steady rise in investor demand, Besen Special Assets capitalized on the opportunity to add Kole to the team.

Kole will be managing the residential (1-4 family) whole loan desk where he will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, which include working on behalf of community, regional and national banks as well as private equity funds and hedge funds in the disposition of residential (1-4 family) whole loans to private, corporate and institutional investors.

OceanFirst Foundation Donates $10,000 to Girl Scouts

 

OceanFirst Foundation recently awarded the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore with a $10,000 grant to help fund its Girls Are Great summer day camp and additional outreach programs.

Girls Are Great, held at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, provides summer programming to girls from low-income households, giving them a summer day-camp experience. From STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to creative arts to swimming, girls enjoy a fun-packed week of summer day camp with a Girl Scout focus.

“While the number of girls involved is high, many Girl Scout members continue to face financial barriers, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy,” said Susan H. McClure, chief executive officer, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. “This generous donation from OceanFirst Foundation really helps our girls now, when they need it most.”

OceanFirst Foundation’s donation also helps Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, which serves more than 13,000 girls in Monmouth and Ocean counties, continue its outreach efforts to girls in need. Many Girl Scout members are stilling feeling the effects of Super Storm Sandy and, with funding from organizations like OceanFirst Foundation, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore hopes to help restore a sense of normalcy to those affected or displaced.

DiPaolo Named Nilson Middletown Office Manager

 

MIDDLETOWN – Gloria Nilson & Co. Real Estate has announced the hiring of Leonard DiPaolo as the Middletown office branch manager. DiPaolo brings more than 25 years of real estate management to his new role.

VNA Welcomes New Medical Director of Hospice and Palliative Care

 

RED BANK – Visiting Nurse Association Health Group welcomed Vikranta Sharma, M.D., as the medical director of Hospice and Palliative Care. Sharma brings years of health care leadership and hospice and palliative care experience to the organization. She officially assumed her leadership role with VNA Health Group on July 1.

Sharma has served as the hospice medical director at Gentiva, formerly known as Odyssey Healthcare. More recently she was the associate medical director of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. In these roles, she supported and supervised nurses during their care of complex end-of-life patients.

As a senior manager she was responsible for setting team goals and targets as well as educating and supporting both nonclinical and clinical staff.

She has been an active primary care physician in Middlesex County since 2007 and was the founder of Monroe Internal Medicine Associates.

Sharma provides palliative medical consultation as the director of palliative program at the CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.

Sharma finished her internal medicine residency at the SUNY Health Science center at Syracuse N.Y. She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from University of Delhi, Maulana Azad Medical College in India. She is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and an active member of the American Academy of homecare physicians.

“As America is aging, the health care system needs to step up its involvement in care coordination of our vulnerable adult population with multiple complex medical issues,” says Sharma. “Addressing goals of care and advance health care directives ahead of time and honoring these wishes, when the time comes, has never been more important. We need to strengthen our local health care systems so we can take care of our own. This vision needs an involved community effort and leadership. Northern Monmouth C of C to Hold Women In Business Lunch 

 

HAZLET – The Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce is holding its quarterly Women in Business Luncheon at noon Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Park East Restaurant, 3352 Route 35.

The popular event for women, men and young adults, spotlights women in business. The educational luncheons are designed to empower women in the marketplace.

At the conclusion of the Spotlight Presentation, the floor will be open to members and guests so they may ask questions of the presenters. The presenters will be Jackeline Mejias-Fuerte and Lisa Kanda.

The topic “Services & Programs for Businesses” will be presented by Mejias-Fuerte, who is the regional director of N.J. Small Business Development Center at Brookdale Community College. She has more than 25 years of business experience. Her expertise is in small business development and management. She serves as the committee chair for the Community YMCA Teen Young Achievers Club.

The second topic, “Nine Must-Have Free Business Tools,” will be presented by Kanda, the chief results officer (CRO) at Elkay Corporate Advisors. She has more than 25 years of experience in marketing communications, business consulting and coaching. She’s the cohost of Blog Talk Radio Show, “30 Minute Business Dig,“ and is a sought after social-media speaker. She’s an instructor at the Small Business Development Center where she teaches six social media workshops each semester.
