Circle BMW is Accepting Food Donations for The FoodBank

Published on November 22, 2013 with No Comments

EATONTOWN – Circle BMW is accepting holiday food donations now though Dec. 31 for The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

The BMW dealership, located at 500 Route 36 East, is again a drop-off site for much needed nonperishable food items during the 2013 holiday season.

The FoodBank serves more than 260 pantries, soup kitchens and other feeding programs throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, distributing almost 7 million pounds of food annually. The FoodBank also operates a culinary training program for people in need of better-paid jobs, a kids café and backpack program for children, a mobile pantry and food stamp outreach program.

With the help of roughly 1,000 volunteers each year, the FoodBank’s programs are a community effort, working to eliminate hunger by providing emergency food, skills training, outreach programs and advocacy for families in need.

Circle BMW is currently accepting the following non-perishable items for the FoodBank: stuffing and gravy, ready-to-eat canned meals, canned sweet potatoes or yams, canned vegetables, canned fruits, cranberry sauce (jellied), tuna, peanut butter and jelly, instant potatoes, pasta/rice, macaroni and cheese, canned juices and sip-size juices, canned and dry soup.

Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected and delivered to the FoodBank between now and the end of the year. Donations may be dropped off at Circle BMW between 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
