FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Monmouth County election offices at 300 Halls Mill Rd. will be open extended hours this week for registered Monmouth County voters who would like to vote in person and in advance of Election Day.

The County Clerk’s election office, Superintendent of Elections’ office and the Board of Elections’ office work in tandem to coordinate walk-in, registered voters prior to Election Day. The election office hours for early voting are:

  • Wednesday, Nov.2 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 3 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 4 – 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 5 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 7 – 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“In the past, absentee voting was restricted to individuals with disabilities, those who were out of town on Election Day or unable to vote because work hours kept them from the polls,” Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French said. “That is not the case any more. Any registered voter can come to the county’s election offices and vote prior to Election Day.”

To vote in person at the county election offices, a registered voter can go to the Halls Mill Road office and apply for and cast a ballot prior to the opening of the polls on Election Day, Nov. 8. This is part of the statewide Vote By Mail program that has replaced the absentee ballot.

“All applications for Vote By Mail ballots must be in by 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the county election office if you’re using the Vote By Mail program,” French said. “If you want to vote prior to Election Day, you must apply in person or by messenger. Call the election office for more information.”

Election information can be found on the County Clerk’s page of the Monmouth County Web site at Contact the Monmouth County Clerk’s Election Office at 732-431-7790 for additional information.

“All voted ballots must be in the election offices by 8 p.m on Election Day,” French said.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The regular election office hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
