Fair Haven Bookstore to Host Mary Kay Andrews Appearance Wednesday

June 14, 2013

FAIR HAVEN – New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews is launching her new novel Ladies Night at an event to benefit Shores United Relief Foundation, hosted by River Road Books, during a the “ladies’ night out” event 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Nauvoo Grill Club at 121 Fair Haven Road.

With a stack of New York Times bestsellers to her credit, Andrews’ latest page-turner, Ladies Night, was released by St. Martin’s Press on June 4. This year marks the fourth in a row that Andrews has come to the shore area on her book tour.

“The Jersey Shore has a special place in my heart,” Andrews said. “On my first trip through in 2009, I received news of my granddaughter’s birth while standing on the porch of The Grand Victorian in Spring Lake. This area is like a good luck charm for me. I’m so glad to be back again and to see the area thriving and ready for a great summer ahead.”

In the spirit of summer at the shore this year, River Road Books and Andrews agreed they would like to partner up with Shores United to give a portion of proceeds from the evening to the local Sandy relief charity.

Wednesday’s event will consist of a talk and reading by the author followed by a Q&A and book signing. There will be light hors d’oeuvres and a full cash bar. Free swag bags will be given out to the first 50 attendees and raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to win prizes like baskets of books and gift certificates to local establishments.Tickets are $30 and include an autographed hardcover book. A portion of all ticket sales as well as 100 percent of raffle ticket sales will be donated to Shores United. Shores United will be on-hand at the event selling t-shirts and other SURF merchandise.
