George Sheehan Classic Run for 20th Time Saturday Morning

RED BANK – Under clear skies and near-perfect weather, the George Sheehan Classic 5k was run this morning by nearly 1,400 paricipants through downtown Red Bank.

Andrew Brodeur, 23, of Brick Township won the short run with a time of 15:13. Jennifer Malavolta, 42, of Reeders, P.A. was the first female finisher with a time of 17:48.

It was the 20thrunning of the George Sheehan classic that began and ended on Broad Street and veered through Bergen Place and Branch Avenue before returning back on Prospect Avenue and Harding Road.

George Galasso, 22, of Holmdel, finished in second place with a 15:36 time and Craig Segal, 29, of Highlands rounded out the top three with a 15:36 finish.

Brianna Feerst, 19, of Brick, was the second female to finish with a time of 17:59 and Jamie Liberti, 27, of Middletown, was the third female finisher in 18:16.
