LITTLE SILVER –The perfect cure for the winter blues – a visit to Sickles Market’s greenhouse during its Annual Artists’ Weekend Feb. 16-17.
Each day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. approximately a dozen artists will display their art and hold demonstrations at Sickles, 1 Harrison Ave.
The event is free to the public. Artwork is for sale with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the artists.
“This is a great time of year to enjoy our greenhouse,” said Bob Sickles, third-generation owner of Sickles Market. “It’s stocked full of beautiful plants and the natural light is perfect for displaying art. We are lucky to have so many talented local artists dedicating their lives to creating works of art and Sickles is happy to allow them to exhibit in our greenhouse.”
Artists work in several mediums, including watercolors, oils, pen and ink, textiles and recycled materials. Additionally, on Saturday, Feb. 16, Sickles Market will set up a terrarium table demonstration as well.
Artists slated for Saturday, Feb 16, are: Susan Fairgrieve, photography; Katherine Grady, stained glass; Lyndsay Senerchia, knitting; Donna Nicosia, pottery; Linne Grant, paintings; Mike Quon, paintings; Jane Lux, oil paintings; Dana Flynn, jewelry; Eileen Ricigliano, jewelry; and Laurie Olefson, jewelry.
Artists slated to appear on Sunday, Feb. 17 are: Hope and James Grimes, vintage handbags and clothing; Kim Levin, photography; Laurel Lee, jewelry; Bruce Perlmutter, wood turner; Alicia Benoist, pottery; Maryann Small, jewelry; Michael Baker, photography and postcards; Lorna Weber, paintings; Alice Mansfield, knitting; Carol Bruno, paintings; Nancy Aufiero, mosaic art; and Demetrius Patterson, paintings.
