OCEAN GROVE – Mary’s Place by the Sea, the respite home for women with any type of cancer, has reopened after being closed for two months due to Super Storm Sandy flooding.
While the building was shut down, volunteers redirected their efforts toward helping communities recover and rebuild. The founders reopened Mary’s Place’s doors knowing that relieving their guests of their daily stresses was imperative.
Mary’s Place is now back, offering temporary solitude while providing oncological massage, nutritional counseling, education about prevention, and yoga to guests from their community and throughout the United States.
With the reopening, Mary’s Place by the Sea has announced a partnership with Oncology Massage Associates, LLC.
“We are looking forward to providing our guests cancer-specific therapeutic and palliative care massage, health coaching, and other holistic and complementary modalities,” said founder Michele Gannon.
Oncology Massage Associates, LLC was founded by Michele Camille, BS, LMT, who later partnered with Susan Niven, MS, LMT. Their vision is to serve clients through the use of individualized, integrative, holistic approaches. Creating this partnership will expand Mary’s Place By the Sea into mainstream cancer care.
