Middletown Salutes Veterans

[nggallery id=27]MIDDLETOWN – Flags were flying high on Sunday as members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179 and the Mayor and Township Committee hosted the township’s 54th Annual Veterans Day Parade Community groups, scouts and school groups joined organizers in saluting the township’s veterans.

The parade began at 1 p.m. in Belford and proceeded across town to end at the rear entrance to VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth.

The theme of this year’s parade was “Never Forget.” Grand Marshalls for this year’s parade were John Lewis, Marine Veteran of VFW Post 2179 and Carmen Peterson, President of the Ladies Auxiliary.
