SHREWSBURY – The Gloria Nilson Realtors, Real Living Shrewsbury Office will host its seventh annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at 600 Broad St.
The stand will be designated for the third year as an Alex’s Lemonade Grand Stand to help raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research in the hopes of finding new cures and treatments for this important cause. The office has raised almost $51,000 to date.
“Our agents and staff in the Shrewsbury office work so hard each year to put together a fun and rewarding event, and the people in our community always rise to the occasion and show their support,” said Pat Bell, president of Gloria Nilson, Realtors, Real Living.
Along with lemonade, hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn, the Shrewsbury Office Grand Stand will include family-friendly activities for children of all ages. Among the activities on the agenda are pony rides, a bounce house, Shrewsbury fire truck rides, face-painting, music and games.
Sponsors of this year’s lemonade stand event include: Gloria Nilson Realtors, Real Living; Foodtown; Herr’s; Starbucks; Vinnie’s Provisions; Island Margarita’s; Nelson Press; Signs by Tomorrow; American Rentals; Scott Simpson of Jersey Mortgage; Julie Gill; and local attorneys Andy Krantz, Jeff Lehman and Amy Burr.
This year will also feature an Alex’s Lemonade Art Gallery. Children who color an Alex’s Lemonade picture will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card. Art gallery forms may be picked up at the Broad Street office or by emailing Joan at jlabanca@glorianilson. com. Forms should be returned to the office no later than the date of the event to be included in the drawing.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered nonprofit charity, has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding more than 150 research projects nationally.
