This past weekend was truly picture-perfect, not only weather-wise but event-wise as well. I had the privilege of attending two exceptionally produced fundraisers: The Monmouth Conservation Foundation’s 35th Annual Dinner Dance “Art in Nature and Nature in Art” at the picturesque Fairway Farm in MIddletown and the Holiday Express Clambake at Tim McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch. Saturday’s dinner dance, which honored Robert and Joan Rechnitz, founders of the Two River Theater, was a magical evening of orchestral music and fabulous fall fare amid a backdrop of rolling hills and gentle mist. At Sunday’s clambake, toes were tapping to the sounds of Tim McLoone and his band members. Guests enjoyed a seafood extravaganza and a seaside sunset at the Jersey Shore. I had found paradise on the beach, surrounded by friends and the warmth of a fire pit on this chilly evening. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the wonderful efforts of the committees and generosity of the attendees at both events. Thank you for your continued support of such worthy causes. See you next year.
