Shrewsbury Rings In The Holidays

December 9, 2011

More than 300 people gathered at the municipal center as Shrewsbury Borough kicked off the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the annual tree lighting celebration. The crowd enjoyed holiday music from DJ Tommy Lynch, caroling from the Shrewsbury Borough School chorus, and the school’s kindergarten and first grade classes.
The borough will celebrate the Festival of Lights when Chanukah menorah is lit at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22 at the gazebo at Borough Hall. The event will feature live entertainment, dreidels and donuts.
The Shrewsbury Police Benevolent Association’s holiday toy drive continues through Dec. 20. Bring unwrapped toys to the Shrewsbury Police headquarters. The toys will be donated to those families in need in Shrewsbury and surrounding towns. Call Patrolman James Ramsey, (732) 741-2500 ext 209 or email for additional information.
