LONG BRANCH – The Valerie Fund Children’s Center at Monmouth Medical Center will host a tree lighting and reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 to honor Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation.
The event is part of the Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer Campaign, a joint effort between Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation and the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of childhood cancer and the need for critical research funding during the month of September, which is recognized nationally as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The program will include a tree that has been decorated in gold – the trademark color of the Make Some Noise Foundation – as well as ringing church bells and fire alarms as guests pause for a moment of silence.
The tree lighting and reception will be held at the Sea Bright Fire Department at 1099 East Ocean Ave.
